Position Summary
The Director of Development is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies to support the Montessori Institute of North Texas (MINT) and its mission. This position plays a pivotal role in cultivating relationships with individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners; securing financial contributions; managing fundraising campaigns; and overseeing events that promote community engagement and institutional growth. The ideal candidate is flexible, forward-thinking, and prepared to grow with MINT as the organization expands its programs, reach, and fundraising capacity.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising and Development
Develop and implement an annual fundraising plan aligned with MINT’s strategic goals.
Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors, corporate sponsors, and foundation partners.
Research, write, and submit grant proposals and reports in collaboration with MINT leadership.
Manage annual giving, major gifts, and special fundraising initiatives.
Oversee donor communications, appeals, and digital fundraising efforts.
Adapt and scale fundraising strategies as MINT’s programs, enrollment, and institutional capacity grow.
Donor Relations and Stewardship
Build and maintain meaningful relationships with donors to ensure long-term engagement.
Maintain accurate donor records and tracking systems within MINT’s databases (SharePoint, Populi, or similar).
Draft and distribute timely acknowledgments, thank-you letters, and impact updates.
Develop recognition programs and materials that reflect donor contributions and MINT’s mission.
Events and Campaigns
Plan and execute fundraising events, receptions, and community engagement opportunities.
Coordinate logistics, sponsorship outreach, and communications for all fundraising activities.
Collaborate with staff to integrate fundraising messaging across print, email, and social media platforms.
Collaboration and Communication
Partner with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to identify and cultivate donor prospects.
Provide regular progress reports on fundraising goals, donor engagement, and campaign performance.
Represent MINT at community events and professional gatherings to enhance organizational visibility.
Participate in strategic planning discussions to help scale MINT’s fundraising capacity in line with organizational growth.
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in fundraising, development, or advancement.
Demonstrated success in donor cultivation, grant writing, and campaign management.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
Experience with donor databases and Microsoft Office Suite (SharePoint experience preferred).
Self-motivated, collaborative, and committed to the mission of Montessori education.
Comfortable with change, growth, and taking initiative as MINT’s programs and fundraising capacity expand.
