American College of Clinical Pharmacy
The American College of Clinical Pharmacy, with its headquarters located in the Kansas City metropolitan area, is recruiting for the position of Executive Director. The successful candidate will be the third Executive Director of ACCP, which was founded in 1979. The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of the College which holds total assets of about $20 million and a professional and administrative staff of 35 individuals, most of whom work remotely throughout the US. The College also maintains a government and professional affairs office in Washington, DC. The Executive Director will have the option of working remotely.
Position Responsibilities
Among the key responsibilities of this challenging and professionally rewarding position are:
- Oversee and coordinate the College's strategic planning, financial planning, and investment activities and subsequent implementation of ACCP’s long-range
plans; - Serve as the chief staff officer and an ex-officio member (without vote) of the Board of Regents;
- Serve as an ex-officio, voting member of the ACCP Foundation Board of Directors;
- Work through other staff and member volunteers to assure successful implementation of the College’s education, publication, government/professional
affairs, research, and operational initiatives; - Represent the association and serve as a liaison to other professional and scientific societies, the pharmaceutical industry, governmental agencies, the public, and other appropriate individuals or entities.
Requirements
Preference will be given to a candidate whose core values align with those of the College and who possesses well-developed skills in strategic planning and project management; financial and policy administration; leadership; written and verbal communications; decision-making; and general administration. Certification in association management, BPS board certification, leadership experience within a national professional organization, and a strong knowledge of the contemporary health care environment are other key traits of the ideal candidate.
