*JOB SUMMARY* The Vice President of Development provides strategic leadership and direction for all fundraising programs within the Foundation, advancing the mission, vision, and goals of Baylor Scott & White Health through philanthropy. The Vice President oversees a team of development professionals and drives comprehensive strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major and principal gift donors. This role also provides oversight of the Foundation's grants portfolio, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and compliance with funding requirements. As a senior leader within the Foundation, the Vice President partners closely with executive and clinical leadership, board members, and key volunteers to inspire transformational giving and achieve ambitious fundraising goals. *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE* • Provide strategic direction and leadership for a comprehensive major gifts program to meet or exceed an annual fundraising goal of $35M+ through effective team and portfolio management. • Lead, mentor, and support a team of fundraisers to ensure alignment with Foundation priorities, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and donor-centered excellence. • Provide strategic oversight for comprehensive fundraising campaigns, ensuring effective goal setting, prospect pipeline development, solicitation planning, and volunteer engagement to achieve campaign objectives. • Personally manage a select portfolio of principal gift prospects and donors capable of gifts of $1M+, including cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies that advance institutional priorities. • Partner with senior system and hospital executives, physicians, and volunteers to identify philanthropic opportunities and secure meaningful engagement across the health system. • Represent and present on behalf of the Foundation to internal and external audiences, including executive leadership, physicians, community partners, and donors, to elevate understanding and inspire philanthropic support. • Serve as a primary liaison to key Foundation Board members, select hospital boards, and volunteer leaders to strengthen relationships and drive strategic fundraising initiatives. • Collaborate with Foundation leadership in setting long-range fundraising plans, developing annual budgets, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance standards. • Leverage data analytics, donor research, and CRM systems to inform strategy, measure progress, and enhance donor engagement • Performs other position-appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional, and courteous manner. *KEY SUCCESS FACTORS* • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with demonstrated success engaging high-level donors, volunteers, and executive leaders. • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and measurable results. • Proven leadership experience, including the ability to inspire, develop, and retain high-performing teams. • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. • High level of emotional intelligence, professional integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information. • Experience leading complex fundraising initiatives, including principal and transformational gifts. • Knowledge of proposal development, campaign management, and philanthropic best practices. • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; master's degree preferred. • Minimum of 12 years of progressive fundraising experience with at least 5 years in management or leadership role. • Experience in health care or complex nonprofit organizations preferred. • Proficiency in data management systems, project management, and Microsoft Office 365 applications. *BENEFITS* Our competitive benefits package includes the following - Immediate eligibility for health and welfare benefits - 401(k) savings plan with dollar-for-dollar match up to 5% - Tuition Reimbursement - PTO accrual beginning Day 1 Note: Benefits may vary based upon position type and/or level *QUALIFICATIONS* - EDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification - EXPERIENCE - 5 Years of Experience, 7+ years preferred
